They are the DTS surround sound or DTS and Dolby Digital. You can either use for this, depending on your needs. Most people consider to be superior to Dolby DTS surround sound. Dolby or DTS —

Most of the films in the cinemas are played in Dolby Digital surround sound. Nowadays, even DVD's that can have surround sound. It has a low bit rate but if functions effectively at the lower levels. Thus bitrate should not be the sole criterion in choosing the sound system. The data rate is higher in DTS and it is therefore considered appropriate as a rule. DTS is not the usual sound format into DVD's. Because of the high data rateencoding requires less compression and thus a better sound. The drawback with DTS is that it uses a lot of data disc capacity. Before you buy the sound system, you must consider many things, data rate is only one of them.

Compression also decided that the sound system is better. This gives a clear idea about the performance of a sound system. Usually there is too much data into sound formats and thus requiresefficient compression. The compression should also be economical. So always on the lookout for the compression. It must be high. Your sound system may have a high data rate, but it will not be effective if the compression rate is low.

So what is better sound format?

Everyone wants their sound system to have high quality sound. But the question remains as to what sound format is better? People use different points on this debate. Some sayDTS is better, that because of the high data rate, but what they do not know is the fact that it does not make efficient use of data. The basis is that both DTS and Dolby deliver almost the same results. So you can buy one of them, depending on your requirements. The end result is that both are good in their own way.

Basically, no one can say that DTS better sound quality than Dolby, and vice versa. Both have their share of advantages and disadvantages.
